Celia Strickland was born the third of six children in 1957. She graduated in 1975 from Fairfield High School. Celia pursued her medical career at Navarro Junior College in Corsicana, Texas from 1975-1978. She received an Associates in Science and O.R.T.; Operating Room Technician Certification. There she met her husband Lonnie Strickland. Upon the competition of her graduation from Navarro, Celia accepted a position at Navarro Regional Hospital in 1976 until 1983. Her duties included being O.R.T. and Scrub Tech, where she assisted the Doctors in surgery and worked in the Emergency Room.

As Celia’s career began to take off, her knowledge and capabilities increased and Celia took a position in Dallas at Medical Arts Hospital in 1983 until her departure from there in 1991. Celia assisted twelve Doctors in various surgeries from abdominal to orthopedic. Celia left from Medical Arts to take a position for W.B. Carrell Clinic™ of Dallas. At Carrell Clinic™ they specialized in strictly Orthopedics. Celia would then work exclusively for two Ortho Docs. Celia has been with the clinic for twenty + years. Over the years she has received many certifications, which include being a certified O.R.T., Cast Tech, and Scrub Nurse. Her latest accomplishment included her receiving an OPAC (Orthopedic Physician Assistant Certified) and SA-C. Celia is a member of The Ortho Academy, A National Member of TCOPA, and the National Association of TCOPA, which is the Texas Chapter of Orthopedic Physicians Assistants and ASOPA and SA-C.

Although Celia has obtained many medical accomplishments and received many awards, her greatest accomplishments are becoming a Grandmother of eight. Celia’s love for children did not begin when she became a Nana, but she has always worked with the youth, from being a PTA President, to a Room Mom, a School Volunteer, a Team Mom, a Drill Team Parent, and a Girl Scout Mom. All of those years of experience have enabled Celia to develop a deeper love and compassion for the kids. She now serves as the Director of Lil Fellowship at Loving Fellowship Baptist Church, where she works tirelessly with the little people. Celia would not have been able to be a successful, wife, mother, Nana, employee, or Youth Leader with the help of her Almighty God, whom she gives All the Honor and Glory, for without Him she could do nothing.
