Dr. Carr Vineyard joined the Carrell Clinic in 2011. He was born and raised in Dallas, Texas, and attended Highland Park High School where he was a captain of the Varsity football team. After high school, he attended Texas A&M University where he graduated Magna Cum Laude with a degree in Biomedical Science. Dr. Vineyard attended medical school at the University of Texas Medical School at San Antonio, where he graduated number one in his class, and earned several awards including election to the Alpha Omega Alpha Honor Society. He completed his Orthopaedic surgery internship and residency at the University of Texas Health Science Center at San Antonio, where he learned to manage complex orthopaedic problems including severe traumatic injuries. Dr. Vineyard developed an interest in surgery of the foot and ankle during residency, and was awarded a prestigious fellowship in foot and ankle surgery at Duke University under the supervision of Dr. James Nunley, Dr. James DeOrio, Dr. Mark Easley, and Dr. Selene Parekh. During fellowship, Dr. Vineyard was exposed to a wide range of complex foot and ankle conditions.
Dr. Vineyard specializes in comprehensive management of foot and ankle disorders. He has a special interest and extensive training in ankle replacement surgery and reconstructive surgery of the foot and ankle. He also manages Achilles tendon related disorders, and foot and ankle disorders associated with rheumatoid arthritis, osteoarthritis, and traumatic arthritis. Dr. Vineyard also treats heel pain, bunions, hammer toes, and flat feet. While at Duke, Dr. Vineyard assisted in the medical care of the Duke Men's and Women's Basketball teams, as well as the Lacrosse and Football teams. He has written several book chapters on disorders of the foot and ankle, and has several scientific papers pending publication. Dr. Vineyard is a member of the American Orthopaedic Foot and Ankle Society.
